I raised the question before, but buried deep down in one and a half threads about SATA it didn't draw attention.

DSL-N uses a 2.6.11 kernel, afaik "inherited" from Knoppix 3.9, which is about a year old. What's the reason for that pick, is there any chance of updating it? Personally, I'd like >= 2.6.15 to have hdparm working on SATA, for others it may help sound issues, etc.

(In a blatant try, I exchanged it with the Kanotix kernel, but that didn't work.)
