Kernel 2.6 is huge. It alone will not fit on a floppy!
The complete boot image is 2.4MB.
Following along the lines of Koppix proper, their fourms suggest to try SBM. Smart Boot Manager. This would require having both a floppy and a cdrom in the target machine. And only serves those machines that cannot boot from a cdrom.

This may sounds silly but how about split the image into 2 floppy disk and combine in memory ? there are far more PC can not boot from usb than boot from cdrom.

Seems you are missing the point of the distribution. Robert can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you can't boot from USB or CDROM, then your computer is probably a candidate for the actual DSL which uses a Linux 2.4 based kernel. DSL-N uses the more modern kernel (2.6) which has less legacy (older computer) support.

My non-legacy computer, for example, does not even have a floppy drive.
