In downloaded DSL-N-A3 last night and tried it from live CD with the DSL TORAM switch. It found ALL the hardware on my HP-8660C (150meg RAM) first try. That is VERY impressive. I am using an external modem via the serial port though.

Only thing I need now is a browser. Can I assume it needs to be installed the the HD in order to have Firefox and Dillo options, or is there something else I need to do? At this point it looks as if Windows will be used only for games soon.

Thanks guys!

PS If I can be of assist in testing, let me know.

The applications including the browser is on the menu.

See Site News for listing all the new applications.

You must be mixing DSL backup with DSL-N.
There is no Dillo or Firefox in DSL-N.
It is the Mozilla Suite.
Be sure to boot to a pristine environment.

boot: dsl base norestore

This will ensure that you are seing the correct menu's, etc.

That was the problem. DSL-N was finding the previous install of DSL and using that config. Window$ does the same thing if there is another registry on another partition.

Now all I have to do is learn Linux.

Thanks
