What's the name (where to find) the script that installs to disk?

Thanks,

OK. Cut alpha 3, i.e., a3 is now posted for your continued testing and feedback during this our alpha phase

In a3 I tried to:

1. address the printing issues
a. password setup
b. check to see that cups is started when selecting the Printer Setup button.
c. prompt to persist printer setup by automatically adding cups related files to the backup control file .filetool.lst upon shutdown.
Note: You still need to setup backup device using the backup/restore button.

2. The fluxbox menu was slightly adjusted

3. Updated .mplayer and .naim in the home directory

4. Now using Lawn theme instead of the purple Kharisma one

5. Added smbfs module

6. fixed beaver to leafpad in .emelfm files

I am sure there will be more.
Please do not try to update your frugal install during the testing period.
Too many things are changing.

Thanks for testing and giving feedback.

When I used a3, I had the following problems:

-telnet is not found
-When using "apt-get update" from the dsl-dpkg.dsl extension I get
E: Could not open lock file /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (2 No such file or directory)
E: Unable to lock the list directory

This is not a Debian apt get system.
Not all apps that were in DSL are in DSL-N.
DSL-N is not DSL nor a progression of DSL.

Wow. Good work and impressive speed.(I am still running a2)

It would be good idea to inform of a new release also somewhere else than here!

For example:
In the main page?
On the forum page above the forums (in red)?
Or a NEW thread (in "Site News") for each release..

Just wanted to say thanks for all the continued work on both projects. I am really excited about dsl-n so far and what it can become.

Hello,

First i want to say to the developpement team of DSL / DSL-N that they have probably done the most performant and easy Linux I have tested and used ; thanks for your great work !!!

So, as an old and happy user of DSL, i decided to test the last release of dsl-n on my Dell Inspiron 6000 : result : Lan ethernet card detection is OK but no detection for the onboard wireless card. does anybody have o solution ?

I also saw that there was no shortcup for LinNeighbourhood wich is present on the distro. It should be easier to have a shortcut in the menu.

I also had a problem during the hard drive installation : I have Windows XP on a NTFS partition ; I had done a Linux partition for DSL-N ; everything whent ok untill I chose GRUB as boot loader. When I restart my computer, GRUB was not well installed and none of my OS was bootable. So, I re-installed DSL-N with LILO as boot loader and now everything work fine ; Bug in the install script for GRUB ?

Thanks

Sylvain
