Hello,

I'm trying to give DSL-N a look, but I've hit a snag. Everything appears to be loading great, but when it tries to configure eth0 with DHCP, it hangs. I know why it can't DHCP: that card is broken. I can't remove it because it is on the motherboard. I have another card in there that definately works (eth1 I figure), but I can't figure out how to get the live CD to use it instead of the motoerboard-mounted, broked card.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Try booting with the option nodhcp
Then when up try to configure eth1.
It might be as easy as:

sudo pump -i eth1

Wow! That was it!

Thanks for the fast response. I have been running Ubuntu on this machine, but I can't stand how slow it runs. It is only a 500mhz Compaq with something like 350megs of ram.

So far, I'm impressed with DSL-N. Mu son is running DSL on a 266mhz Compaq laptop, ant it has been working great.

Thanks!

OK, it worked so well that I decided to do the HD install. Well, now I don't have the option to disable DHCP on boot anymore.

Does anybody have an idea for how I can disable the eth0 on boot from a HD install?

Sorry for all the typos on the last reply, I was sitting far away from the monitor, and missed all the goofs!

Thanks!

Do you think you can add this to your grub menu.lst entry? Obviously won't work for a lilo bootloader.
