Hello,
i'm working an a old Notebook as descriped in the subject. 256 MB RAM and 700MHz on a PIII isnt that bad an DSL-N is fast!
Harddisk is broken and with it ubuntu 6.06 but that doesnt matter...now i have DSL-N.
My question is: Is there any issue about wep key's with wireless pcmcia-cards?
ubuntu worked fine...

WEP keys work fine with wireless pcmcia cards. That is what I use.
Just be sure to enter the key as colon separated pairs.

Thanks for your reply, i did it like that but as you can see:

dsl@dsl@dslbox:~$ sudo iwconfig eth1
eth1 IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"1027 3154" Nickname:"Prism I"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.442 GHz Access Point: 00:0F:CC:21:79:A0
Bit Rate:11 Mb/s Sensitivity:1/3
Retry min limit:8 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:5B45-E54D-7C Security mode:open
Power Management:off
Link Quality=60/92 Signal level=-33 dBm Noise level=-141 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

I'm missing something like that as the second line.
inet addr:192.168.134.53 Bcast:192.168.134.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

any ideas?

With all wireless cards you should boot with the option nodhcp

Also have you issued?

# pump -i eth1

pump is the dhcp client in DSL-N. It is used to query/obtain an ip number from a dhcp server.
