Emacs (I looked but could not find it in MyDSL).
Firefox
A Java run time environment

With pen USB drives going so cheap (I got a 1Gb drive for $20), DSL-N can double in size and still be small enough to fit on a pen drive and allow a lot of misc. files to also be stored on the drive.

I think firefox is in the MyDSL

You can get a java runtime from:
Then click download on the JDK 5.0 Update 7

Click accept and then choose the Linux self-extracting file (jdk-1_5_0_07-linux-i586.bin). Change mode to be executable and install away. Note that you will have to set your PATH to include the /bin/ directory or something of the like.

This is for the JDK (which include the JRE). You could just get the JRE if you wanted.
